Trinity offers the first Master of Arts in Urban Planning in Connecticut, equipping graduates to excel in high-level jobs. The new urban planning master’s degree provides professional training that meets the American Planning Association’s Planning Accreditation Board (PAB) standard.

Graduates will step up in the field ready to deal with ever-increasing global, regional, and local concerns in the urban planning arena, including:

  • Environmental factors
  • Sustainability

The new Master of Arts in Urban Planning is hosted at Trinity’s Center for Urban and Global Studies, as they seek answers to global planning issues — linking Trinity students to the world!

At a Glance

The master’s in urban planning consists of 12 courses — four core courses, four required courses, and three courses toward a concentration, in addition to completing a thesis or final project. Urban planning graduate students will have opportunities to pursue internships with city planning offices and projects focused on learning how to do research. Full-time students should expect to complete the degree requirements in two years.

  • Total cost to you is $39,600 (excluding fees), based on 2023-24 tuition rates.

  • Submit your application by August 1 for fall start, December 15 for spring start, and April 15 for summer start.
